Beats the hell out of the Neo-Modus client, that's for sure.
OpenOffice
Great -
A bit clunky at times, but significantly less so than Microsoft Office.
Firefox

Why is it great? It's not Internet Explorer.
VLC media player
Great -
Plays pretty much anything you throw at it, no codec hunting required.
Adium

As advertised. Nearly every modern IM protocol is supported and functions well. Endlessly customizable.
Flock

Great for managing and organizing your various online identities...or if you need to bait your Girlfriend away from using IE.
Songbird
Great -
iTunes without the Apple junk clogging up the works. Has numerous addons/skins like Firefox. Supports continuously watched folders and FLAC!
XBMC

Absolutely amazing. Will take some tinkering to get it to look/act the way you like but once you've got it set up, XMBC turns your machine into an elegant media center.
Transmission

Looks like a native OS X app, simple to use, but has all the bells and whistles advanced users will need to set things up the way they need to.
