Oolite

Oolite is a 3-D space trading and combat simulator. You are the pilot of a spacecraft capable of interstellar travel to other nearby planetary systems using wormholes generated by the ship's engines. Each system in the core game contains one inhabited planet, with an orbiting space station where the player can trade and upgrade their ship. Open ended game with no set goal, other than to acquire the coveted Elite rating. Different star systems and economies offer many opportunites for a spot of trading, bounty hunting, pirating and occasionally repelling alien invaders. The game contains 5 in-built missions that will reveal themselves once the player gains some experience. The growing number of 80+ expansion packs available for this game provide extra missions, variety and surprises to discover along the way.
