Great - Fontforge is an application that makes a hard task possible, namely, the design of high quality typefaces.

Despite its interface being based on X toolkit, it is comparable in function (but not in appearance) with modern toolkits.

The functionality of the program is superb and it can edit advanced features of the OpenType format for use with typesetting programs such as LaTeX (with the help of the fontspec package).

Highly recommended.

Great - Font Forge is awkward to use but it is available and works pretty well.

Frankly fonts are hard to deal with anyways and fontforge has support for many font types.
