It's better than being limited to using only Graphviz. When you want to make graphs and you're using GNU/Linux, you are pretty limited since most proprietary software vendors think GNU/Linux users are opposed to them. That's not always the case. Some of us prefer free and open source software, but if I need a commercial application, I'll pay for it.

Graphical glitches, hangs for seconds at a time when entering information, offers little intelligent management of diagrams, ugly. Feels like a college project.

This app is fast, stable, full of features and exactly what Mechanical Engineer like me needs to layout functions and dependencies to help plan out our design.

Can do nearly nothing by right clicking. It's hard to snap lines to objects. It's difficult to add text to objects.

There's no polish. I encountered so many little annoying bugs in the first 15 minutes that I'm about to give up on it.

Easy to use. Simple. Creates nice looking diagrams. The default font size is on the small size and this makes it hard to read when the diagrams are exported to jpg.

Works fine. Wish it could handle .vsd (visio) files for compatibility.

Dia is like having the essence of the original (Pre-Microsoft!) Visio, only usable for Linux. It's easy to use, has a full symbol set, and is reasonably quick!

Great as a network drawing tool. I used it extensively during University.

I have found this to be the perfect tool when I am helping our support department troubleshoot a customer's network problems. I can diagram what we think the customer is saying, and send the diagram back to Support and to the customer. It's quick, it's easy, and it just works!

Filled with many little annoyances that break the flow. Eventually they all add up so much that I switch back to Visio. Even OpenOffice Draw is better.
