Inkscape is a vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to those of Illustrator, CorelDraw, and Xara X. CamStudio can record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files. The software's built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWF). You can use it to create demonstration videos for any software program, or video tutorials for school or college class, or record a recurring problem with your computer so you can show technical support people.
Art of Illusion is a 3-D modeling and rendering studio. It is written entirely in Java, and should be usable on any Java Virtual Machine that is compatible with Java 5 or later. The software is both stable and powerful enough to be used for high-end animation work. Many of its capabilities rival those found in commercial programs. Some of the highlights include subdivision surface-based modeling tools, skeleton-based animation, and a graphical language for designing procedural textures and materials.
